Owner Debra Manns holds an Associates in Applied Science from
Commonwealth Business College, was recipient of the Top Typist Award from her graduating
class and is an active member of the American Association for Medical Transcription. Debra
not only manages and trains her staff, but also is active in transcribing for clients.
While staff members are trained to work on a personal basis, with one individual
transcribing to a certain number of doctors, another individual is cross-trained to back
up the primary transcriptionist in case of an emergency situation. Working along side the
staff enables Debra to keep everyone abreast of the changing aspects of medical
transcription and to provide on-going education in all areas from keyboarding skills to
the latest in reference materials and dictionaries.

CONSCIENTIOUS
PTS understands Medicare, Medicaid and
insurance companies alike require specific documentation in the patient's chart, as well
as the complexity of their problems. Realizing how busy doctors are and that discrepancies
in dictation can occur, any variances will be brought to your attention. For your
convenience and peace of mind, files are archived for up to one year. In the event that a
document is misplaced or a duplicate of a previous document is needed, give PTS a call and
we will gladly retrieve a copy for you.

COST-EFFECTIVE
Partnering PTS with your practice enables
you to run your office more profitably. The average cost to train a transcriptionist for a
multiple doctor's office is $10,000.00, and there is the risk that they will not stay
after training. By using PTS that risk factor is eliminated and you can forego the
expenses of employee benefits, taxes, insurance, unemployment tax, workmen's compensation,
etc. In situations where your practice requires only part-time transcription work, the
work load is unusually heavy or vacations need covered, it is no longer necessary to rely
on another staff member to try to perform transcription duties. PTS permits you to receive
experienced, knowledgeable interpretation and documentation of patient care, performed by
a medical language specialist, on an on-call basis. Call PTS and we will work with your
present staff/transcriptionist to perform this work outside of your office.

CONVENIENT
Using a transcription service outside of the office allows you to make better
use of work space for yourself or other office personnel. By utilizing our voice mail or
24 hr. direct dictation systems, you can choose the time that is most convenient for you
to perform this duty. This freedom allows you to have additional time for more patient
contact and your staff more time for direct assistance to you. To further assist you, we
will arrange for pick up of tapes to be transcribed and delivery of transcribed tapes. If
preferred, data can be processed electronically to be printed in your own office. If you
presently have a "tank" type dictation system, tapes can usually be bled off the
system to be given out. If you are currently using a medical record computer program,
outside transcription assistance can be obtained through a modem or by system to system
transfer.

TURN-AROUND TIME
Knowledge of the field along with technology enables timely, accurate return of
documentation to our clients. PTS strives to keep a 24 hr. turn-around. We are aware that
patients may return within that length of time and the physician will need their
dictation. Also, quickly providing insurance companies and workmen's compensation carriers
with the necessary patient care documentation allows faster billing and reimbursement for
both the physician and the patient.
